Many of us feel depressed about the COVID-19 situation, and it is without doubt a horrible tragedy. But millions of people are rising to the occasion, and there’s plenty of good news that can overpower the rest, for example:

The planet needed a break and we are providing it. After decades of warnings about global warming and the need to act on it, pollution is declining, animals are leaving their habitats to walk on the street, and the water in rivers and seas is becoming clearer. Ironically, what was humanity's main problem, thanks to another "misfortune," is giving us more time to save our planet.

We have realized we don't need as many material things as we thought. It all came down to living in a space where having cars is useless, as we can't drive them, having money doesn't matter as we can't go out to spend it, and having clothes and jewelry are trivial, since we are only using comfortable things that don't even match, etc. Yes, we spend money, but for food and utilities, nothing else. Currently, the basic things to survive and live comfortably are having a home and company so as not to fall into madness.

“The virus knows no borders”. In an instant it broke down all barriers and distinctions of race, religion, and power. Suddenly, a virus has shown people who still discriminate by race, social class, sexual orientation, etc, that, after all, neither having money nor being white makes you immune to pandemics or any natural disaster. Those who believed themselves indispensable and superior to others for being lawyers or for having companies, discovered that, to their regret, the indispensable ones are those who cultivate fruits, those who attend supermarkets, security guards, and doctors.
